Posible presencia del rasgo dental premolar "Uto-Azteca" en un cráneo de época prehispánica (siglos II a.C., siglo IV d.C.), cementerio de "Las Locas", Quibor (Estado Lara, Venezuela)
Resumen
Los premolares superiores poseen dentro su cara oclusal, dos cúspides bien definidas, característica determinante para su descripción morfológica como grupo bi- cúspide. Dentro de este grupo se pueden encontrar diferentes variables morfológicas, las cuales pueden ser de gran utilidad en los estudios filogenéticos poblacionales. Una de esas variables es conocida en la literatura como cresta disto-sagital o premolar Uto- Azteca, ya que sólo se ha podido observar entre los pueblos de lengua Uto-Azteca del suroeste de los EEUU y parte de Mesoamérica. En la presente trabajo se reporta la presencia de este rasgo o carácter dental en un primer premolar superior derecho, perteneciente a un cráneo de época prehispánica, cementerio de “Las Locas”, Quibor, Edo. Lara, Venezuela.
