El presente trabajo plantea un modelo teórico conceptual, elaborado mediante una revisión bibliográfica para describir los posibles factores, procesos y mecanismos que explican la estructura y dinámica del microbioma de la cavidad oral en el ser humano de acuerdo a las hipótesis y teorías de la ecología de comunidades, en un contexto prehispánico mediante tres casos de estudio.
