Propuesta de protocolo quirúrgico para el sistema All on four mandibular en el postgrado de cirugía bucal de la Universidad Central de Venezuela
Resumen
INTRODUCCIÓN: El edentulismo total mandibular representa un desafío clínico significativo, impactando negativamente la calidad de vida de los pacientes. La técnica all-on-four, que utiliza cuatro implantes para soportar una prótesis fija completa, ha emergido como una solución eficaz y predecible para rehabilitar a estos pacientes. OBJETIVO: Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar y proponer un protocolo quirúrgico estandarizado para la técnica all-on-four mandibular, basado en las evidencias científicas y en la experiencia del Dr. Paulo Maló, con el fin de estandarizarlo en el postgrado de Cirugía Bucal de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura científica sobre la técnica all-on-four mandibular, con énfasis en los protocolos quirúrgicos propuestos por diferentes autores, especialmente el Dr. Paulo Maló, Se utilizaron bases de datos confiables, repositorios, motores de búsqueda (PubMed, Scholar Google, SciELO). Posteriormente se analizó paso a paso dicho protocolo con la finalidad de proponer su estandarización en el postgrado de cirugía bucal de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. RESULTADOS: El protocolo propuesto se basa en la evidencia científica confiable y en la experiencia clínica de Maló comparándolo con la de otros autores. Se describe de manera detallada cada paso del procedimiento quirúrgico, desde la preparación del paciente hasta el seguimiento postoperatorio. CONCLUSIÓN: La implementación de este protocolo quirúrgico estandarizado para la técnica All-on-Four mandibular en el postgrado de Cirugía Bucal de la Universidad Central de Venezuela representa un avance significativo en la atención a pacientes edéntulos.
