Terapia pulpar vital en diente permanente joven: revisión de la literatura

Resumen


La endodoncia en dientes permanentes jóvenes ha tenido una evolución paulatina, existiendo actualmente numerosas alternativas de tratamiento para cada caso, sin embargo, la elección de tratamiento dependerá de la preparación y actualización de conocimientos del clínico, es por ello que se llevó a cabo una investigación de tipo documental, explicativa, con base en la metodología de una revisión bibliográfica. Objetivo: Compilar información actualizada sobre la terapia pulpar vital, los materiales utilizados y la efectividad a largo plazo de estos tratamientos. Métodos: Se llevó a cabo una búsqueda en las bases de datos: PubMed, SciELO, Dialnet, RedALyC, Elsevier y Google Académico. Resultados: un total de 44 artículos fueron seleccionados para su lectura y análisis crítico. Conclusiones: La terapia pulpar vital (TPV) es una opción de tratamiento confiable y viable para dientes permanentes jóvenes, las técnicas y materiales empleados en la realización de la misma han evolucionado, actualmente los biocerámicos son los materiales con mejor desempeño en las TPV, el Biodentine y el MTA son los que mejor se posicionan y las diferencias entre ambos no son significativas, el Theracal se ve limitado al estar en contacto directo con el tejido pulpar debido a su composición. El material precursor en las TPV, el hidróxido de calcio ha demostrado menor tasa de éxito en comparación con los materiales actuales, aunque aún se reporta su uso.
