Precisión de la técnica de scanner intraoral para toma de impresiones dentales en comparación con la técnica convencional en arcadas completas: Revisión sistemática
Resumen
Introducción: El escáner intraoral es un dispositivo que funciona generando múltiples fotogramas y luego, mediante un software, sincroniza los datos obtenidos para recrear una imagen tridimensional de los tejidos intraorales. Objetivo: El objetivo de esta revisión es evaluar la precisión de la técnica del escáner intraoral para la toma de impresiones dentales en comparación con la técnica convencional en arcadas completas. Materiales y método: Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en las bases de datos MEDLINE (pubmed), Scholar Google, Biomed Central, hasta el año 2024, sin restricciones de tiempo ni idioma, utilizando términos de consulta, combinando las palabras clave reportadas con operadores booleanos como: “dental impression” OR “Intraoral Scan” OR “Accuracy” AND “prosthetic dentistry” OR “prosthetic” OR “dental prothesis”. Resultados: Cinco estudios cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, todos ellos evaluando la precisión in vivo de impresiones dentales intraorales digitales vs. Convencionales, dando diferentes opiniones sobre el uso de escáneres intraorales en un contexto clínico sin causar desajuste de la restauración final. Conclusiones: Las impresiones convencionales son más precisas que las impresiones digitales. Los autores de los diferentes estudios recomiendan enfáticamente el uso de impresiones intraorales.
