Efecto in vitro de los detectores de caries con propilenglicol en la fuerza adhesiva de resinas compuestas: Una revisión sistemática

Introducción: Los líquidos detectores de caries (CDD) se emplean para diferenciar dentina infectada de afectada, pero su solvente propilenglicol (PG) podría interferir en la adhesión de resinas compuestas. Objetivo: Evaluar la evidencia in vitro sobre la efectividad adhesiva de resinas en dentina pigmentada con detectores de caries. Métodos: se realizó una revisión rápida para identificar estudios preclínicos en PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct y SciELO publicados entre 2000 y 2026. Se incluyeron estudios in vitro que midieron fuerza de adhesión y la microfiltración en superficies tintadas con líquido detector de caries con propilenglicol. Resultados: Se identificaron ocho estudios. Cuatro reportaron una disminución significativa en la fuerza de adhesión cuando el tinte no se removió; en otros 2, se observó un aumento no significativo de la microfiltración, especialmente en sistemas de grabado total. Sin embargo, las investigaciones que emplearon sistemas de autograbado de dos pasos reportaron una resistencia de unión adhesiva más estable. Conclusiones: La evidencia indica que el propilenglicol de los detectores de caries disminuye la fuerza adhesiva en la dentina afectada cuando no es removido correctamente, no siendo así cuando el tejido impregnado es removido mecánicamente con instrumentos rotatorios, permitiendo mejorar su fuerza adhesiva. Sin embargo, el reducido número de estudios impide conclusiones definitivas, requiriéndose más investigaciones preclínicas y clínicas para lograr resultados más concluyentes
