Optimización de la extracción de cafeína en hojas de Ilex guayusa Loes
Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio fue optimizar la extracción asistida por ultrasonido de cafeína en hojas secas de Ilex guayusa Loes mediante la metodología de superficie de respuesta. Se evaluó el efecto de la amplitud ultrasónica, tiempo y temperatura sobre la extracción de cafeína mediante un diseño factorial 23. Para la optimización se empleó un diseño óptimo-combinado Las con-diciones que maximizaron la extracción de cafeína (1,589%) fueron: amplitud ultrasónica 55,99%, tiempo 29,17 min y tempe-ratura 58,88°C. Debido a los presentes hallazgos, los extractos acuosos de I. guayusa se pueden proponer como un componente promisorio para bebidas energizantes naturales.
