Aproximación a la Cosmogonía Wayuu: La Tierra y la Mujer

Resumen

Nuestra investigación está referida a la interpretación del pensamiento mítico Wayuu, en la búsqueda de la relación entre Madre Tierra y la Mujer en la Cosmogonía Wayuu, desde los tiempos del origen, a fi n de contribuir con
los estudios del pensamiento amerindio y de la mujer en nuestra América Latina. En este sentido, el análisis del pensamiento mítico será enfocado desde la hermenéutica que nos permite conocer el mensaje étnico desde la interpretación del lenguaje simbólico del mito, lo cual conlleva a descorrer el velo que lo cubre para encontrarnos con los elementos que prevalecen allí significados para la posteridad. Esto nos ha conducido a descubrir no sólo la insoslayable y determinante participación de la mujer desde la creación en su mundo societario, sino comprender y asimilar el lenguaje simbólico, donde el mensaje en momentos es difícil de entender no sólo por el estilo metafórico que prevalece sino por la especifi cidad de la cultura Wayuu.

Approach to the Wayuu cosmogony: The Land and the Woman

ABSTRACT

Our research is related to the interpretation of the mythical thought Wayuu, in the search for the relationship between mother earth and women in the Wayuu cosmogony, since the time of the origin, in order to contribute to the studies of the American Indian thought and women in our Latin America. In this sense, the analysis of the mythical thought will be focused on hermeneutics which allows us to know the ethnic message from the interpretation of the symbolic language of myth, which leads to lift the veil that covers to meet with the elements that prevail there meanings for posterity. Th is has led us to discover not only the inescapable and determinig women’s participation since the creation in the corporate world, but understand and assimilate the Symbolic language, where the message at a time is diffi cult to understand not only the metaphorical style prevalent but the specificy of the Wayuu culture.
