El presente chino y su encrucijada ante la crisis económica actual

Resumen

La crisis mundial tiene un fuerte impacto en China, obligando, a marchas forzadas, a elaborar una nueva agenda que, además de insistir en la plasmación de un nuevo modelo de desarrollo, debe acelerar respuestas a los grandes retos del país. Esos desafíos son: el económico, el social, el ambiental, el político y el estratégico. El PCCh y el gobierno deben gestionar un presente a cada paso más complejo y que multiplica las incógnitas respecto al éxito futuro de la reforma china iniciada en 1978. Los primeros resultados del paquete de estímulo son buenos, pero insuficientes para sentenciar la recuperación.

Abstract

The world crisis has strongly impacted on China. The country has been forced to develop a new agenda which, apart from stressing the need to shape a new development model, must come up speedily with answers to the big challenges China faces. Those challenges take different shapes: economic, social, environmental, political and strategic. The CPC and the government have to manage a current situation which becomes increasingly complex and which multiplies the unknown quantities relating to the future success of the reform China initiated in 1978. The incentives package's first results are good, but not enough to confirm the recovery.
