Efecto de HyperEM para modelado corporal en parámetros antropométricos, clínicos y bioquímicos asociados al estado nutricional y metabolismo en un grupo de mujeres venezolanas
Resumen
El sobrepeso y la acumulación de grasa abdominal constituyen un problema de salud pública. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la viabilidad y seguridad de la aplicación de tecnología de campos electromagnéticos focalizados de alta intensidad (hyperEM) para reducir la grasa abdominal. Se realizó un estudio piloto observacional, con consentimiento informado, en 32 mujeres (37,3 ± 9,4 años). Las pacientes recibieron tratamiento con HyperEM (6 sesiones 3 veces por semana). Antes y después del tratamiento, se midieron la actividad cardiovascular y respiratoria, parámetros antropométricos (peso, talla, IMC, pliegues cutáneos), bioquímicos (concentraciones séricas de colesterol total y fraccionado): HDL, LDL, VLDL, triglicéridos, enzimas lactato deshidrogenasa, creatinina quinasa. total (CK), alanina aminotransferasa, transaminasa glutámico-oxalacética (TGO) y potasio) y el espesor de la grasa abdominal por ecosonograma. Después del tratamiento se observó una disminución significativa (p <0,0001) en los valores de los pliegues cutáneos suprailíaco y abdominal y en el grosor de la grasa abdominal (supraumbilical, infraumbilical o lateral). Los valores de colesterol y HDL / Col disminuyeron apreciablemente. Los valores de las enzimas TGO y CK aumentaron, siendo significativa la variación de la CK (p <0,0001) en los pacientes que no realizan ejercicio físico con frecuencia. Sin embargo, la variación en el CK promedio estuvo dentro de lo esperado (menos de 5 veces el valor de referencia inicial). No hubo síntomas clínicos relacionados con rabdomiólisis o daño muscular hasta dos meses después del tratamiento. Así, la tecnología HyperEM es segura y eficaz para aumentar el tono muscular, fortalecer los músculos abdominales y reducir la grasa abdominal.
