Impacto del uso de generadores durante la crisis energética en el centro histórico de Cuenca-Ecuador
Resumen
Durante la crisis energética en Ecuador se recurrió al uso de generadores de combustión interna en el centro histórico de Cuenca, posiblemente impactando la calidad del aire y el ruido urbano. En este estudio se evaluó la calidad del aire y el nivel de presión sonora durante esa época. Para ello se determinaron las concentraciones de partículas PM10, PM2,5 y gases NO2,
O3, SO2 y CO en once puntos, mediante una estación Cairnet y un sonómetro integrador marca TESTO-135, registrándose además el flujo vehicular. Los resultados mostraron concentraciones de PM2,5 y PM10 superiores a los límites de la OMS, registrándose los máximos en el punto 2 con 50,91 ug/m3 y 72,7 ug/m3, respectivamente. Los niveles de ruido oscilaron entre 72,37 y 85,91 dB (A), superando los 50 dB (A) establecidos en la ordenanza municipal. De esta manera, se determinó que el uso de generadores de combustión interna y el elevado tráfico vehicular durante la crisis energética en el centro histórico de Cuenca contribuyó al deterioro de la calidad del aire y aumentó la contaminación sónica, evidenciándose la
necesidad de implementar regulaciones para el control y monitoreo continuo durante el uso de este tipo de equipos.
