Síntesis de Zeolita LTA modificada (iones Ca2+ y NH4+) empleando el método hidrotérmico para la captura de gases de invernadero (CH4 y CO2)
Resumen
This work studies the effect of the crystallization time variation during the synthesis of the LTA zeolite, in the adsorption of greenhouse gases such as methane and carbon dioxide, controlling the system at different temperatures 40º and 60ºC. This synthesis was carried out using the hydrothermal method, based on zeolitic precursors present in aqueous medium subjected to high temperatures for a determined time. The solids synthesized were subjected to an ion exchange at a reflux with 1M solutions of CaCl2 and NH4Cl respectively, causing the modification in the size of the pores and therefore in their adsorption properties. The solids were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transform (FTIR), nitrogen fisisorción (for the determination of the surface area) and electron scanning microscopy (SEM). It was determined that the structures obtained are crystalline and correspond to the LTA zeolite, they are microporous and their crystals have cubic geometry. The adsorption tests showed that zeolites modified with Ca2+ ions at 60°C are the only ones that adsorb CO2, while the great majority of LTA zeolites modified with ammoniacal and calcium ion exchanges adsorbed 100% of CH4 at different working temperatures (40 and 60ºC).
